What to Consider When Starting Flight Training#1. Can you pass the medical?
It's recommended that you get your medical prior to training in case there are any issues. #2 It is EXPENSIVE. There are financial options such as scholarships and loans available, but it generally costs $10,000-$15,000 for a private pilot, sometimes more if the student struggles or doesn't study. #3 Study when you can't fly. Michigan is notorious for months of weird weather. If you can't fly, study for your written exam. Learning on the ground will help you in the plane. #4 Avoid Start and Stop Training I speak from personal experience, it definitely adds time to your training if you have to go long periods without flying, avoid getting rusty during the training process if possible. |
